Duty Manager – Full-time or Part-time – Murray Downs Golf & Country Club and Swan Hill Club

Join the Management Team as a key staff member running the day-to-day operations at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club or the Swan Hill Club.

The successful candidate will need:

  • An outgoing and positive attitude
  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Team leadership and motivational skills
  • Proven experience and qualifications including RSG and RSA
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, with nights and some weekends

Key tasks include:

  • Leading a large team with a hands-on approach
  • Ensure competency in frontline positions
  • Ensuring staff maintain an excellent level of service
  • Mentoring and training staff
  • Ensure the Club meets all compliance requirements
  • Ensuring adequate staff levels during shifts

Children’s Room (Casual positions available)

Murray Downs Golf & Country Club is seeking passionate and enthusiastic people to fill several casual vacancies for staffing of the Murray Downs Children’s Room.

To be successful in this position you would:

  • Enjoy working with children
  • Understand the responsibilities of caring for and supervising children
  • Have a current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Be available to work Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights

Award: You will be employed under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award.

You will be joining one of the region’s leading not for profit organisations with three trading venues (Murray Downs Golf & Country Club, Swan Hill Club and Spoons Riverside)

What do I need?

Qualifications / Certificates:

Previous experience advantageous but not necessary.

Ability to drive self to work/current driver’s licence OR other reliable means to get to venues.

Apprentice Greens Keeper

The Murray Downs Golf & Country Club is well known throughout golfing circles for producing playing conditions to match some of the best in the country. Situated on the Victorian / NSW border Near Swan Hill, the club is consistently rated within the top 100 in the country and is also seen as the premier golfing destination along The Murray River.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic & motivated individual with the club currently seeking to employ an Apprentice Greenkeeper. The position is full time and involves rostered weekends. The position will allow the successful applicant to study Horticulture, Turf Management through Melbourne Polytechnic.

Chef (Full/Part Time positions available)

You will be joining one of the region’s leading not-for-profit organisations with three trading venues (Murray Downs Golf & Country Club, Swan Hill Club and Spoons Riverside)

Duties required:

  • Equivalent experience in hands-on, high volume kitchen operations and cooking including à la carte and functions
  • Contribute to our daily processes and work alongside the Sous Chef and Head Chef
  • Be team orientated
  • Work well under pressure and be both confident and creative in the kitchen
  • Be available, nights, weekends and public holidays
  • We offer great working conditions and room to further your career
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

This role will suit a Chef who is passionate about food and wants to train up within a professional kitchen environment.

All candidates must be flexible with roster, ability to work nights and weekends is essential. The role is paid according to the relevant level for the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills:

  • A passion for food and the hospitality industry
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced setting while delivering consistently high standards
  • Able to work well within a team and follow direction
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A working knowledge of OHS standards, understanding the importance of maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen
