A modern city with all the heart and attractions of a small town community

The region has matured over recent years into a modern city, but still has the heart of a country town. And although Swan Hill is the central hub, each town has its own character and identity.

To the north are the picturesque towns of Beverford, Nyah, Nyah West and Piangil, while to the south lies the town of Lake Boga renowned for its vital role in WWII as a flying boat repair depot. Cross the river to Murray Downs and Tooleybuc where rural life mixes easily with river culture. To the west is Ultima, a wheat-belt community, home to the most down to earth people you’ll ever meet.
